On Friday, August 30, Temple Contemporary will open its fall exhibition, Black Like That: Our Lives As Living Praxis, which includes work by Associate Professor of Sculpture Karyn Olivier and two other award-wining Philadelphia artists.
The exhibition, funded by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage and curated by former TC Director Jova Lynne, is anchored at Temple Contemporary but includes presentations in three Black neighborhoods of Philadelphia. The artists’ works leverage the extensive archives of Temple’s Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection.
All are invited to an opening reception from 5-7 pm that evening.
